I got a letter from council or the water authority — what is it?

Almost certainly a reminder that your backflow prevention device or tempering valve is due for its annual test. It’s a legal requirement, and the test has to be done by an accredited person and lodged with the authority. We handle the whole thing.

What is a backflow prevention device and why must it be tested?

It stops contaminated water from being drawn back into the drinking supply. Because lives depend on it working, the law requires an accredited annual test — we test, service and certify it, and lodge the paperwork.

What’s a TMV, and does mine need testing too?

A tempering (thermostatic mixing) valve limits hot water temperature to prevent scalding — common in homes and required in many commercial and care settings. It needs periodic testing and servicing, which we carry out alongside backflow testing.

Do you lodge the certificate, or just give it to me?

We lodge it with the water authority on your behalf — not just hand you a piece of paper. That’s the part that actually satisfies the requirement, and it’s the part some operators quietly skip.
